No. 1 Lawrence North Rolls Without Greg Oden, Stays No. 1

Even without Greg Oden, Lawrence North is the most dominant team in Indiana high school basketball.
The 7-foot center Greg Oden received eight stitches and had a swollen jaw after a win over Dayton ( Ohio ) Dunbar last Thursday. Greg Oden was kept out of Saturday's match up with Fort Wayne Snider as a precaution.
No matter.
The Wildcats blew out the previously unbeaten Panthers 89-45 and remained the unanimous pick for No. 1 yesterday in the weekly Associated Press Class 4-A poll. Snider fell from sixth to eighth in the statewide media vote.
Indianapolis Pike, which was second last week, lost to Bloomington South and dropped to fourth. The 70-65 win moved Bloomington South up two spots to second, while Muncie Central remained third and Anderson again was picked fifth.
Andrean remained No. 1 in Class AAA and Lapel again was No. 1 in Class A, but there was a new leader in AA after Knightstown's loss to Lapel in its first game of the season.
Forest Park (4-1) defeated Class A's Loogootee and moved up from No. 2. Tell City (3-0) made the biggest gain in AA, moving up five spots to fifth.
In the girls' poll, Jeffersonville (6-1) is seventh in Class 4-A, Corydon (5-1) is fifth in AAA, Southwestern (6-1) is fourth in AA and South Central (7-1) is 10th in A.
