The Power of Greg Odenized Thinking
TrueHoop reader Jeremy, a Blazer fan, just emailed me about one of the ways Greg Oden is making his life better:
My friends and I have come up with a new term: "to odenize." It can be used in many different situations. Here are a couple of ways I have odenized myself.
I got married August 5. In order to save myself from tearing up while my wife walked down the aisle I started to think about Greg Oden before I saw her.
I kept thinking of Mr. Oden as she read her vows ... and no tears.
As I started to read my vows I got a little choked up. I paused, thought of Greg Oden, and continued on.
I always thought I would be balling through the ceremony. But no. I made it cleanly.
My friends all thought my trick was really cool. The wife, however, wasn't all that happy to find out I was thinking about Greg Oden during most of our wedding ceremony.
The whole reason I knew odenizing myself would work was that I had done it one time previously. My grandmother is currently suffering through cancer. I went to see her a couple months ago and couldn't help wanting to cry. I tried to think of something that made me happy ... anything. The first thing that came to my mind was the Blazers' drafting Greg Oden. I made it through the visit with no tears.
You may want to pass this on to your readers -- the power of odenization is amazing.
