Greg Oden, a 7-foot-1 phenom who will be a freshman at Ohio State in the fall, will visit North Carolina as the Research Triangle area hosts three marquee college basketball games in three nights in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge in November.
North Carolina's game against Ohio State on the second night of the challenge matches Oden, considered the top American center prospect since Shaquille O'Neal, with 2005-06 national freshman of the year Tyler Hansbrough.
Duke-Indiana on the second night of the challenge is a rematch of last season's 75-67 Duke victory at Bloomington, Ind. Duke alumnus Tommy Amaker, the Michigan coach, returns to North Carolina to face N.C. State in the challenge opener.
Wake Forest is the lone ACC team without an ACC-Big Ten game. The ACC has 12 teams, and the Big Ten has 11. Wake Forest sports information director Dean Buchan said the Deacons were left out because they finished last in the ACC last season.
The ACC has won each of the first six ACC-Big Ten Challenges, including a 6-5 margin last season. All games will be carried by ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.
