Greg Oden and the No. 1 Lawrence North Overcomes Slow Start
Arlington holds Wildcats to fewest 1st-half points but falters in the 2nd half

The postseason started ugly for the team widely considered the best in the nation.

Lawrence North scored a season-low 20 first-half points and had as many turnovers (eight) as baskets in leading Arlington by just six points at halftime.

To complicate matters, Ohio State-bound point guard Mike Conley picked up his third foul with 5:11 left in the second quarter and went to the bench for the rest of the half.

The Wildcats have made their mark on defense this year, and even with foul trouble and offensive struggles, it was enough. Lawrence North, which even used a zone, kept the defensive screws tight enough for a 51-35 victory over Arlington in the first game of the Class 4A Tech Sectional.

"We didn't really have any energy coming out in the first half, and hopefully going through that half, you get some energy," said Ohio State-bound center Greg Oden, who had 19 points, including six dunks.
