Top Five Scorers in Portland Trail Blazers History

The Portland Trail Blazers have enjoyed consistent success throughout their 40-year history. The Blazers have been to the postseason 28 times with one NBA Championship.
Five members of the team have scored more than 10,000 points during their tenures. The Portland Trail Blazers' all-time leading scorers include top point guard Terry Porter and Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler.

5. Jim Paxson: 10,003 points

Ranking fifth on the list of Portland Trail Blazers' all-time leading scorers is guard Jim Paxson. The Blazers used their 1979 first round pick on Paxson and he became their starting two-guard in his second season. Paxson was a two-time All-Star for the Blazers in the 1980s, earning selections in his 20-plus scoring seasons in 1983 and 1984. In nine seasons with the team, he averaged a combined 16.0 points and 3.2 assists per game. He later went on to become the general manager for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

4. Jerome Kersey: 10,067 points

Power forward Jerome Kersey was a role player for most of his career, but he had some strong seasons in Portland and became one of the Blazers' all-time leading scorers. Kersey was a second round pick by the Blazers in 1984 and he increased his scoring average in each of his first four years. By 1987-88, he posted a career-high 19.2 points per game and followed it with 17.5 and 16.0 in the next two campaigns. In 11 seasons in Portland, he averaged 12.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.

3. Clifford Robinson: 10,405 points

Versatile forward Cliff Robinson ranks third among the Portland Trail Blazers' all-time leading scorers. Robinson played his first eight seasons in Portland and developed into an All-Star with the team. He won the Sixth Man of the Year Award in 1993 and followed it by averaging more than 20 points per game for each of the next three seasons. After eight campaigns with the Blazers, Robinson spent another ten seasons in the NBA with four teams, totaling 19,591 career points. His longevity and consistency carried him to the NBA's all-time top 50 in points, threes, steals, and blocks.

2. Terry Porter: 11,330 points

An All-Star player and former NBA head coach, Terry Porter ranks second on the list of Portland Trail Blazers' all-time scoring leaders. Porter began his career in Portland and spent his
most successful years there. The two-time All-Star point guard averaged 14.9 points and 7.0 assists over ten seasons with the Blazers as one of the NBA's top creators and shooters. Porter drained 1,297 threes to rank 24th and dished out 7,160 assists to rank 12th in NBA history. After an additional six seasons in Minnesota, Miami, and San Antonio, he retired with 15,586 total points.

1. Clyde Drexler: 18,040 points

By far, the Portland Trail Blazers' all-time leading scorer is Hall of Fame swingman Clyde "the Glide" Drexler. One of only two Blazers to earn All-NBA First Team honors, Drexler had a brilliant 15-year career with averages of 20.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. In 12 years with the Blazers, he earned eight All-Star appearances and averaged more than 20 points per game seven times. He ranks among the NBA's all-time top 30 in points (22,195), assists (6,125), and steals (2,207).
